What we collect

When you place an order or create an account, we collect:

• Contact information: name, email address, phone number, and shipping address
• Order information: the pieces you order, sizes, colours, and payment confirmation
• Account information: if you create an account, your email and a securely hashed password
• Communications: emails, chat messages, or notes you send us

We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Card details are handled directly by our payment processor.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage for essential functionality:

• manieste.cart.v1 - the items in your bag
• manieste.wishlist.v1 - the pieces you've saved
• manieste.recently-viewed - the products you've looked at recently
• manieste.shop.density - your preferred grid layout in the shop

These are stored on your device only. They are not transmitted to us or any third party. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site.

Third parties we work with

The following third-party services are loaded when you visit our site:

• Google Fonts - serves the Cormorant Garamond and Inter typefaces. Google may log your IP address when fonts are requested. See Google's privacy policy.
• Payment processor - handles card payments at checkout. Details are provided at the time of payment.
• Courier partners - receive your name, phone number, and shipping address to deliver your order.

How we use your data

• To process and deliver your orders
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts
• To respond to your customer service inquiries
• To send marketing emails - only if you've opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations

Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the third parties listed above, and only as needed to fulfil your order or comply with the law.

Your rights

You can:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request that we correct inaccurate data
• Request that we delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements for order records)
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data: SSL encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on our internal systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and update our practices as threats evolve.

Children

Our store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced by email to registered users.
